The Annapolitan has taken a proactive and pragmatic approach to preventing COVID-19, since well before the virus became a threat to our community.

Early Action, Lasting Results

At the earliest signs of the virus impacting our region, our management and team members:

  • Coordinated enhanced cleaning procedures and frequencies
  • Began conducting regular staff training on best practices and virus education
  • Successfully secured necessary personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Issued frequent and regular communication with residents’ families

These early actions together with our ongoing efforts have allowed our community to do all we can to minimize the effects of COVID-19, while maintaining a safe and uplifting environment for residents. And, we’ve kept in constant contact with residents’ families throughout the process, directly reporting the evolving reality we see day to day.

Universal Testing

The Annapolitan proactively began a universal testing regimen for all residents and staff in April of 2020, before the appearance of any positive cases in our community.

Weekly on-site drive-thru testing of our residents, staff, family members, and contracted providers helps ensure that we identify asymptomatic cases early, and act accordingly to prevent spread.

Quality of Life

Life is to be lived. Our goal during this period has been to maximize residents’ quality of life while balancing their individual safety. We strive to keep our residents connected to their loved ones, and engaging in meaningful activity.

All senior living providers will be tasked with fighting this virus for many months to come. In the meantime, the Annapolitan has thoughtfully developed protocols for tours and new admissions that help keep everyone safe. Please contact us to learn more.
